Feature Subject: Restitution

Several aspects of restitution will be examined in this issue of His Kingdom Comes. What restitution is, why we look forward to the "times of restitution",what we can expect before and during these times, all based on the Bible and Bible study. First we will examine what is being restored and thereby discover what restitution is.

Restitution; what is it?

Restitution is the return or the restoring of something lost or removed. If you restore an automobile or a cabinet, you bring it back to the condition that it had when it was new or the condition that the designer intended. Here in Exodus 22:6 restitution (payment) is required for the damage caused by a fire gone out of control. "If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution." In Acts 3:21 we find the key to the sort of restitution we will consider here; "Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.". These "times of restitution of all things" God spoke of through His prophet Isaiah. Here are some of the statements which Isaiah made about this time period:

Isaiah 65:21 "And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."

Isaiah 35:1 "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. 3 Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
4 Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

A careful reading of these texts will reveal a new world that is wonderfully better and strikingly changed from the world that we know now. The statement; "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together," and "And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them." certainly speak of an Earthly kingdom not a Heavenly one since those animals, houses and vineyards are not invited into Heaven. But what does this have to do with restitution?

Romans 5:18 "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."

Only one man has ever lived a completely righteous life, Jesus. Adam had a chance to become righteous and failed in his attempt. However, while Adam was making his attempt, his environment, food, water, companions, yes, even all that he came into contact with, was the best that God had to offer. Likewise, when God extends His offer to "all men" to become righteous, God will present to "all men", the environment that He formerly gave to Adam. This giving again, or restoring, of an environment conducive to righteousness, is the "restitution" that we are discussing. Our degraded environment has been killing us since Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden environmental conditions are that which will be restored.

The lack of good sustenance (food, water and air), the lack of good education, the lack of good companionship all keep us from righteousness. All of these will be supplied when God restores the Garden of Eden conditions to the whole Earth. Here are some thoughts on what was lost and that which will be restored.

Genesis 2:25 "And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:5 ... for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth ...
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."
To me, this indicates that the weather in the garden of Eden was always warm, but not too warm, without rain or snow that would make Adam and Eve uncomfortable. Our future houses (Isaiah 65:21 "And they shall build houses, and inhabit them ...") will reflect these conditions by having no heating or cooling system. Therefore, with the absence of these power hungry systems, power generation could be done at the home site or at the community level making obsolete the megabusiness of central electric power generation, transportation and sales.

This wonderful world is not yet and has never been since Eden. Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." When will that "appointed time" be?

To determine when we should look for restitution to take place, we need to consider where we are in the path of time to begin to see and understand the milestones and the signposts along the way. The following are some of the milestones and signposts that have stood the test of time and have been tried by those wishing to prove, to try by fire, the roadmap of our journey through time.

As watchers for His kingdom, we have the privilege, even the responsibility, to keep a vigilant eye on the signs of the times and the texts of the Bible to know where we are in Yahweh's time and in His plan.

The Foundation Stones

Chronology Mile Stones

The chronological milestones are basically thus: Click here for more complete information.

From 1874 (1874 is 6000 years from the fall of Adam) to 1914, 40 years, Years of cleansing
From 1914 to 1954, 40 years, Years of cleansing
From 1954 to 1994, 40 years, Years of cleansing

From 1994 to 2001, 7 years, Fat years
From 2001 to 2008, 7 years, Lean years

These last dates will be more fully detailed in future e-memos.

Any feedback or questions you may have would be welcome. I have much to learn yet and can only pray to God that I might have, or know where to get, an answer for you. We will cover more on chronology and many other subjects, and some of your suggestion, I hope, in future issues of His Kingdom Comes.

May it be a blessing to you.

Reference Area

More detailed information about the above text and this is where some of the links come to.

Yahweh Almighty: We have chosen to use the spelling "Yahweh" to bring us back more closely to the sound that Hebrew ears heard when the one true God was referred to in times past. The spelling "Jehovah" is a more literal written translation from the Hebrew letters that, when pronounced with modern English phonemes, sounds NOT very much like the sounds of old.

"The days of Terah were 205 years and he died." Gen. 11:32 205 years
Total 427 years

From the Covenant with Abraham to the Giving of the Law, 430 years

Paul declares that the length of this period was 430 years. Gal. 3:17

From the Exodus to the Division of Canaan among the Tribes, 46 years

Caleb ( Joshua 11:23; 10:42 ), said,

"Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh-barnea to espy out the land, and I brought him word again....And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word...while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old." Joshua 14:7,10

Thus it will be seen that it was forty-five years from the spying of the land to its division among the tribes, as affirmed by Joshua, and a little over a year from the exodus to the sending of the spies, making forty-six full years and a fraction from the exodus to the division of the land. 46 years

The Period of the Judges, 450 years

The Syriac reads thus--"And for 450 years he gave them Judges, until Samuel the prophet"--the last of the "Judges."

The Period of the Kings, 513 years

The Seventy Years of Desolation, 70 years

This brings us to the period of the desolation of the land, which lasted 70 years, and was ended by the restoration of its people from Babylon, in the first year of Cyrus, B.C. 536 (See 2 Chron. 36:20,23), a date well established in secular history, and beyond which the line of Bible chronology does not extend.

From the Restoration to A.D. 1873, 536 years +1872 years

The period from the time of the restoration of the Jews from Babylon, at the close of the 70 years desolation of their land, in the first year of Cyrus, down to the date known as A.D. 1, is not covered by Bible history. But, as before stated, it is well established by secular history as a period of 536 years. Ptolemy, a learned Greek-Egyptian, a geometer and astronomer, has well established these figures. They are generally accepted by scholars, and known as Ptolemy's Canon.
Thus we have found a clear and connected line of chronology from creation to the beginning of the Christian era (A.D.)--in all, a period of 4128 years, which, together with 1872 years of the Christian era, make 6000 years from creation to the year 1873 A.D.

Some Points on the Way to a Well Grounded Faith

Through the study of God's two books I have found the following to be worthy. Some of the best references are included here to help you confirm for yourself that these are biblical and are true. May God bless you as you study.

Yahweh is the Most High God. His understanding is infinite. He is without beginning or end. He is love and is the best there is at loving. God loves everyone.

Yahweh had one Son, known as the "Word", or "Logos", who was created before all else was created. All things were made by him (the Word, Yahweh's agent in creating the universe).

The Word gave up his former nature and agreed to be born into the family of man as a human being. "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." He was "made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death,". However, his life and conduct were without sin, he was "separate from sinners".

His life was extinguished, his person (soul) lay dead for parts of 3 days.

He was resurrected to the spirit nature and highly exalted to a position at the right hand of God and given a "name which is above every name,".

• Those who love the Lord with all their heart benefit from the Holy Spirit.

• Man was created perfect, in the image of God, created He him. Through sin, and exile from all those things that truly give life, man fell from perfection to degradation.

God planned man's experience with sin and degradation to teach him the abhorrent nature of disobedience.

• Jesus, in the plan and the grace of God, died so that every man, woman, and child that is of the family of Adam will have the gift of justification, then an opportunity to be whole (healed) and then a chance to become just in a world that is perfect.

• Jesus gave all humanity the opportunity to KNOW that which is just, right, kind, true and loving.

• God has established a thousand-year (Millennial) Day during which this World, and all that is in it will be brought to perfection, educated in the moral and civil realms.

• We shall soon see "the times of restitution of all things" when God will establish, through Christ and his Bride, the New Covenant Government.

• Jesus Christ and the consecrated 144,000, Christ's bride, the Saints, those who, in loving Jesus, suffered and died for Him, form the core of the New Covenant Government.

• At the end of the 1000 year (Millennial) Day God will then choose those worthy of eternal life.
